Hi..! My name is Suryadi Kurniawan. Please call me Adi.
I’m a writer, SEO content auditor, and editor with 6 years of experience. My niche is technology.
I spend my time writing, editing, and SEO-auditing articles about hosting and domain, website development, online business, content monetization, and tutorials for aspiring content creators.
It All Began with Hostinger International
The Hostinger Content Team kicked off a project in Indonesia to make a small content team.
We had five people on board who were responsible for creating articles to promote products using content marketing.
All the writers were Indonesian, but our articles reached audiences in various countries where Hostinger had a presence.
As a digital content writer at Hostinger, my daily routine included sharing knowledge, diving into tech topics (hosting, domain, online presence), and crafting impactful content.
For me, it was more than just a job. It was about developing my skills as a writer and being a part of a worldwide team of digital content creators.
In December 2018, we were already getting around 169,000 monthly visitors (one of 3 projects we’re working on).
In December 2019, we hit 534,000 monthly traffic.
I felt a mix of emotions: happy and sad. That time, I had to leave the Hostinger Content Team and start a new chapter at a different company.
Niagahoster, Covid-19, and Big Growth
Niagahoster is a famous hosting company in Indonesia with many clients (a part of Hostinger International).
When I joined Niagahoster’s content team, our goal was to improve the blog and help the marketing team.
In January 2020, Niagahoster had 1.5 million montly visitors.
My job there as an SEO content writer for Niagahoster blog was to maintain the high writing standards and explain technology related to hosting products in a simple way.
Our audience included new business owners, bloggers, and aspiring developers.
When I started, I saw our traffic going down. In March 2020, during the Covid Outbreaks in Indonesia, our monthly traffic dropped to its lowest point with only 941,000 visitors.
We learned from our mistakes and always updated ourselves with the best practices of SEO content writing. We often shared information about the latest Google algorithm in meetings.
Our traffic was slowly getting better..
In June 2020, I got a promotion to SEO Content Editor. Niagahoster was looking to increase traffic by expanding the team. More writers and editors are needed to prevent content production hiccups.
So, my job was to ensure that articles were SEO-friendly and of high quality, matching what readers were searching for.
We focused on delivering value to readers, and it made a big difference.
Our blog traffic shot up from about 941,000 to over 4.1 million in just a year, by June 2021, thanks to readers-first approach, the StayatHome policy, and the rise of online business potential.
As a professional, I didn’t just edit content. With our company growing, everyone pitched in to help speed up that growth.
I worked together with the marketing team (PR and social media) to make a bigger impact, especially when it came to content for promoting new products or business collaboration.
I participated in a couple of programs, like Etalase Digital, which is a free mini course designed for bloggers and business owners. It helps them maximize their website’s potential to boost their business and career.
Additionally, I also took part in the Telegram Mini Class and Whatsapp Mini Class.
I also became a speaker at the offline event BSI UMKM Center, discussing SEO for websites and participated in online private and public webinars.

I am also involved in creating Niagahoster’s first-ever ebook on digital marketing, in collaboration with Kompas Gramedia publisher. It was successful and continues to be printed as the second edition.
GankNow, from In-House Editor to Freelance Writer
Sad but true, I was laid off in February 2023.
It seemed like the company strategic change and the shift from online-oriented business to the regular offline business in general impact the company’s growth.
From deep inside my heart, I was disappointed. I was so happy to be a part of the company that had given me so many opportunities to grow.
I moved on.
Now, I freelance for Gank, a membership platform for content creator. It’s totally different niche and different status.
It is no longer about web development or small-medium businesses but rather content creators and their efforts to earn money online. And the blog was relatively new compared to Hostinger and Niagahoster.
I started writing for GankNow’s blog when the traffic was only 6,100 monthly visitors. It was low. So, it leaves a room for improvement to boost traffic and reach a larger audience.
The competition to be on the top of SEP is fierce, with big names like GameRant and Ko-Fi as our competitors.
In terms of SEO, Domain Authority matters to Google. To compete, we must provide valuable content and upscale our DA.
I worked hard to learn the new niche and understand the unique audience, but one thing remained the same: Google rewards helpful content and penalizes thin, low-value content. HCU.
I wrote about 10 articles each month, adding important details and facts to make the explanations better. This made a good impact. The monthly traffic has grown a lot in just one year, reaching 173,000.
It continues to grow..
A WordPress Contributor with a Tech Twist
I was once part of the WordPress contributor team for a polyglot project. It wasn’t just about helping a big web development platform; it was a chance to learn new things.
Being in this community allowed me to explore the latest in web development technology.
I gained valuable insights that went beyond the fundamentals, making me write about tech with a deeper understanding and enthusiasm that’s hard to come by.
A Heartfelt Thank You
